The Asian Tour's final stop of the year was last week - The King's Cup. It was played in the northeastern part of Thailand called Kon Kaen. It was my first time there. Did you know that Kon Kaen is the only place in Thailand that geologist founded remains of Dinosaurs! I arrived to the golf course early on Tuesday and played my practice round with Quincy Quek (the #1 amateur from Singapore) at our venue, Singha Park Golf Club. At over 7,500 yards, its the longest golf course in Thailand.
After my practice round and a quick bite to eat, I spent the rest of the afternoon on the putting green working with players. An interesting aspect about the Asian Tour is that it is truly an international tour. We have players from India, Korea, Malaysia and Dubai just to name a few countries.
The feedback I received was tremendous. Players from everywhere came up to me and asked about our putters. Some of the comments were, "Hey is this the same brand that Payne Stewart and Zach Johnson use?" and "I did not know that SeeMore has milled putters." and "Wow! the RST helps me so much!"
I went out to play 9 holes early Wednesday before the pro-am and I pretty much went through the same routine afterwards and spent some time with players and getting their feedback on the putters. Boochu Ruankit came by and wanted to try out one of the Champions Tour for one season. He tried the mFGP and liked it right away. Another top player from Australia which is also top 30 on the money list, Unho Park, loved the m1. In fact, he put it in play this past Thursday and made the cut for the week! Two more players to note tried the putters and liked them. They were Prayad Marksaeng and Chapchai Nirat. Names sound familiar? Marksaeng played in the Masters twice and is ranked in the top 75 in the world. He ordered the SB1. Nirat is the current world record holder. He shot 32 under par and won by 11 shots on the tour earlier this year. He ordered the mFGP2.
Overall, I was very pleased with all the attention SeeMore received this week. I shot 148 and missed the cut by one. Made a few too many loose swings and found myself in bad spots a few too many times. Definitely was not the putter. :)
