Below SPi Director of Instruction, Ted Gallina, traveled to Australia for an On Course National Golf Conference. Read his account below...
For the past 10 days I was given the great opportunity to travel to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia for the On Course National Golf Conference. On Course is a group of PGA professionals, instructors and owners that have their stores on the golf course. This year there national conference was held at Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove in the Gold Coast region of Queensland. It was like a mini PGA Show. The conference was well attended by their members.
After a 16 hour flight from Dallas, TX (leaving 10:00pm Friday) to Brisbane, Qld by Quantas Airlines (arriving 5:00am Sunday) I arrived at the hotel a little dazed to say the least. That evening there was a very nice dinner with the staff from On Course (Paul, Geoff, Grant, Dean, Michelle) and their On Course ambassador, Craig Parry.
Monday we played golf at Sanctuary Cove - Palms Course. The other three players (Tim, Peter and Noel) were from Perth, WA (Western Australia). We had a great time. As you can see below there were a number of kangaroos on the golf course. These animals were very tamed because they have been raised as "joeys" (babies) on the golf course. After golf there was a wonderful dinner for everyone by the pool grounds!!
Tuesday the conference started and I was able to speak with attendees throughout the course of the day. Having the ability to speak in person about our SPi program to everyone was very important to us. The feedback was fantastic. Everyone understood about the SPi starter pack that was offered by the On Course staff. The attendees understood how they could increase their putter lesson revenue as well as give a great instructional tool - a SeeMore putter - to their students and customers.
Wednesday I had the great opportunity to give a SPi presentation in front of everyone. I explained how SPi would make them become a leader in putting instruction in their region. It was well received and believed everyone enjoyed the information. We look forward to growing SPi and the SeeMore Putter Company brand throughout Australia.
Thursday I traveled south to Sydney, NSW for the remaining of my time with the staff of On Course to visit some of their top accounts. - PART 2 will follow tomorrow.
